Background
I have had a varied and interesting career so far, allowing me to develop a unique breadth and depth of skills and knowledge. My primary skillset is technical: I have spent years learning and understanding how AI and data works, whether the maths, code, broad concepts, or how they can be implemented in practice. On the other side, I am proud of my ability to relate to people and communicate effectively, something which I built up through my training as a teacher and a Samaritans volunteer.
Data Scientist
BBC
I am a "full-stack" data scientist, which means I work across the entire data science lifecycle, from research and prototyping to production deployment and monitoring. I am embedded within a cross-functional engineering team, putting ML and LLM-based systems into production at scale.
Data Scientist
Cambridge University Press & Assessment
I worked practically with LLMs within the contexts of automarking, writing bids for funding, and research screening. I also published research on AI ethics and evaluation, which you can find in the research section of this site.
Researcher
Cambridge University Press & Assessment
I worked within a research team, leading a project that synthetised the literature on the use of LLMs in automarking and evaluation metrics. I also presented research on detecting AI malpractice at a seminar for the UK exams regulartor, Ofqual.
Research Assistant
Cambridge University Press & Assessment
I led and developed research into measuring marking consistency. I also helped to automate manual data reporting using R. I was involved in the data operations of the summer GCSE and A level UK exams for OCR.
